Fabulous pictures- what a great project! I don't think I'd ever get something like that finished. I'm so impressed! All those little pieces..... I have just (almost) finished my first sock monkey which is plenty challenging enough for me!

The majority of the large blocks were done back when I was a teenager (that's the majority of the '20 years'; they sat in a box until about 5 years ago). Thalia's not a big cat, so you can kind of tell that's a pretty small quilt. Just big enough for snuggling under on the sofa. I'm a lot better at sewing flat stuff than three dimensional - Your sock monkey sounds plenty challenging to me!

Well, the monkey was challenging for me but generally I am what I consider sewing impaired. I have made some complicated things (a screen door for our van with a curved zipper!!!) but overall, not good friends with needles and thread! As for something as complex and finicky as a quilt I'd just never go there. I'm still impressed you managed to finish it, especially after all this time! Just hanging on to the pieces and not losing them is an accomplishment as far as I'm concerned. :)

Very cool! Any quilt that's made and finished is a major accomplishment. Mine tend to stay in the "I have all this fabric and this would make a coo - oh, hey, yarn!" stage. :)
