We have a friend that used to work as a researcher. She trapped prairie dogs for flea checks, electronic tagging, dissection, etc for plague research.

Whenever you make it this way for a visit I will make sure you meet her. She's got some great stories.

Oh and in Denver they have a giant vacuum truck that sucks whole prairie dog colonies into a large vat. I should say that it sucks the prairie dogs through a tube with a large set of whirring blades that the prairie dogs meet at high velocity. The remaining goo is collected in the vat. Steve-clone and Danielle witnessed that phenomenon from their old apartment there.
