There are a lot of different plans, but we got the basic 100 channels with locals and a dual-tuner DVR for about $30/month. That's with a $10 of per month for 10 months, so after that it'll be $40/month. So that's comparable with cable. We decided to go with Dish Network, because DirectTV's prices were about $10 more all around.
And so far we luuuuuuvvvv it. It isn't snowing on any of the channels, we have our beloved Discovery channel back, and it's quite a thrill, pausing and rewinding live tv! I haven't yet tried out it's Tivo-like capabilities but we'll find that out when we see if I've successfully set it to record Sesame Street tomorrow.
How's that for a wordy answer to an 8-word question?
