RAGE!

May 05, 2010 08:40

So, husband came home this morning with his RAGE!face on.

In case you didn't know, we had a bit of rain here in Middle TN - to the effect that the Opryland Hotel won't be back to rights until November and, last I heard, 29 people died from the storm and the flooding. Here's the LA times summary of what happened. Some of Husband's fellow employees ( Read more... )

Hotel guests in the Nashville vicinity should really be thankful they have running water at all, hot or not. In a few weeks we'll be able to give our treasured guests (and do we ever treasure them, especially their money! lol) all their creature comforts again, but right now it's all we can do to take care of OURSELVES. The least they can do now is have a sense of perspective. The best they can do is help out and spread the word.

Most of the guests have been understanding and cool. This guy was a douchebag. No. That's too much credit. A douchebag has a purpose and leaves you feeling fresh after (I'm told). This guy is more like Bantha fodder, which does not leave you feeling fresh after (I'm told).

So, yeah. Please to be helping Nashville, y'all. It's soggy up in here.

I'm considering cleaning out my closet for stuff I don't wear, doesn't fit me, or could do without. I need to do that anyway.

Oh my word, what a total jerk! I stay at hotels all the time... more than I stay in my own bed to be honest, so I see a lot of the goods and bads of hotels. And come on, you stupid ranter of ridiculous proportions! Take a look around, big picture please. This hotel is not the only one having problems. They may actually be one of the ones much better off.

And this situation-- wise up! The front desk staff didn't congregate at their weekly meeting and go 'oh, yeah, Mr. X is going to be in town-- who wants to take care of the rain dance and getting the water shut off on those days?' *headdesk* *feels rage-y for you and wonders why idiots don't check news and weather before departing on their damn vacations* (that last might also have been partly spawned by the number of irate people I had screaming at me about why their flights were canceled during that whole Europe-got-shut-down-by-a-volcano SNAFU)

They did, actually. Staff meetings are always directed toward inconveniencing guests and pissing them off as much as possible. And of course it's your fault there's a volcano and the planes couldn't fly. Clearly, as a customer service type person, you are in charge of not only the weather, but also seismic and volcanic activity![/sarcasm]

EAT YER DAMN LEMONS, PEOPLE! ALSO, CRY MORE! (Please to be imagining this in my best Bones impersonation - hence Bones icon)

"Record high water?"

Not, you know, goddamn Opryland hotel was flooded up to the roof and a water treatment plant is still underwater? Jesus Christ.

Yeah. So, I work for one of those bantha fodder bags, actually. I get back home from being stranded in the "record High" flood, and he's talking about how stressed out HE is and how he's glad I made it in.

How about "Glad you made it home safe," douche bag?

Geez. People are insane.
