Congratulations galore to Carly Patterson, Olympic women's gymnastics all-around GOLD medalist! The first American woman to get the gold since Mary Lou Retton in 1984. Wow, I cried.

The California Supreme Court has just issued a decision voiding all same-sex marriages that were performed in San Francisco earlier this year, claiming that the Mayor overstepped his bounds by issuing marriage licenses.

*shaking my head in disgust*
