No word from UCR, though I sent an e-mail asking about how long it takes to make decisions about graduate applications. No response to that yet.

I got an e-mail from the editor about my story. The anthology it's going to be in won't be published until May now. To tell the truth, I felt a March publication date was pretty ambitious, given the timing of their call for stories. It's really sinking in now that this is happening, that I am going to be published next month. *fans self* The contract has been signed and sent to the publisher. I got my first round of edits from my editor who pointed out some valid holes. Hopefully I was able to close them up sufficiently with my revisions. So, I've submitted an application to UCR for their Master's in History program and keeping track of when they get my supplementary documents (transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc). Last I'd checked, they hadn't received any of my transcripts, though they had everything else. I thought I might have screwed up when I filled out the forms ( Read more... )

I received the final version of the contract for my story on Saturday. I printed it out and signed it and it goes out in the mail tomorrow. My story will be published in March 2013! *dances around the room*

umbralillium and I met up with emmademarais and melissima last night and we had lots of fun. We sat and talked for about four hours about fandoms and writing and other stuff and it was lots of fun. One thing that came up was the fact that I'd lost a scene in the novel I'm writing.
