Schools almost over... Yeah right

So yeah I'd like to think that summer will bring a time to relax, but not for me. I have to say that my scheduling issues have really caught up with me, but I will give anything up right now. I cant. I'm giving up school, work, girlfriend, or kungfu. Its not gonna happen. But man its been a hard semester. Its times like this that I really ( Read more... )

A thousand years ago there were wandering monks who studied for truth and enlightenment, trying hard to see where the two met with everyday life and the three blended harmoniously and not with extreme sacrifice and detachment. (That last one was tried by the Japanese. Didn't work but they never quit when they have a shitty idea.) There were those who laughed at the wandering poor, thinking of them as shifty, flakes, lazy, stupid, irrational, irresponsible, immature, too separate from the real world. I guess things aren't much different today, even if you didn't wander but had your own temple to study and teach in. But hey, look on the bright side, we live in a country where you can pay your dues and then live your dreams, right? Once you've made enough money, started enough businesses, then you're free to open your studio. It is a sad day indeed when opening a Kung Fu studio is a privilege that can only be earned by the hardworking Republican as somehow the studio idea seems to many to be nothing more than a hobby, a side-job and not ( ... )
