To save you, I could do anything

So I've finally caught up on Doctor Who. Still reeling from all the feels, but here's a few comments .

First off, the divorce thing was the stupidest plot device ever. I'm extremely disappointed in Moffat over that. I mean, come on. If it was going to be a development, then it should have developed, been something that lasted longer than 45 minutes, and was actually a reasonable thing that could split them up. Couples live Amy and Rory don't split up over things like that. Amy is a smart enough woman and knows Rory well enough that he would rather be childless and with her than have a million children and be without her. That's just stupid. And this isn't something that she'd just decide and kick him out over, they'd have a huge fight about it, he'd convince her that he'd rather have her, and that would be the end of it. I mean, I feel like Amy must have been bitten by a radioactive spider or something cause she's acting like a dim-witted noble superhero who's deciding to make decisions for the person she's loved since forever and is now finally with and yet won't tell them her secret for their own good. And the sad thing is people are acting like this proves how much Amy really loves Rory. No, this is proving that she's an idiot. She does make up for it spectacularly in the last episode though. Together, or not at all.
It was a great episode though, Oswin very cool, and a lovely little scene at the end.

Really good arc though, I liked all the middle episodes though #3 was kinda meh. Brian Williams FTW though. Absolutely loved his character and wish we could have had more and more and more of him. Totally canon that he's best friends with Wilf, btw.

The Power of Three episode was really good. The idea of the Doctor just hanging out at their house and living with them was super awesome. The three of them are so good together and it was cool to see him fitting into their lives more. And think about it, they've been traveling with him, mostly on, for 10 years! That's the longest companion ride in the Tardis ever, and it just goes to prove how well the 3 of them get on and why they're my favorite compilation of travelers in the Tardis and definitely the best since the original 4. Also, the Brig's daughter! Kicking ass and taking names just like her dad. That was epic.

Though I do have a complaint about the lack of Rory/Doctor interaction. It was nauseatingly Amy this and Amy that. They do have a special connection, I get that, but the Doctor loves Rory just as much as he loves Amy. And there were all these Doctor/Amy conversations going on about the future and why he comes back for them and all that, but the only Doctor/Rory time was the kiss, which I'm sure 11/Rory shippers had squee seizures over, but was not anything near enough to show the awesomeness of their friendship. He didn't even get a goodbye. I had to go back and read all my own fanfiction, that shows you how desperate the situation was. There was lots of good P3 moments (anybody else getting Charmed flashbacks?) and lots of Rory/Amy love and lots of Amy/Doctor love, but no Rory/Doctor love and that is just unacceptable.

Finally, the ending. Oh, the ending. I loved it, it was beautiful and full of pathos and incredibly acted and fitting. But...so not logical at all. Moffat really needs to think his super clever ideas out more. I'm in the process of writing a fic. The afterword that Amy writes to the Doctor, well, now it says something along the lines of : Yo, Doctor, come get us in New Jersey in 1939. Right? I mean, he could never take the Tardis back to 1938 in New York. Well, okay, so they have the opportunity to tell him where to come and get them. As for the gravestone, how easy would it be for them to commission a headstone and put it in the graveyard. Timelines fixed, Rory and Amy go on adventuring and/or return home, and Brian doesn't have to be sad. (Speaking of, that unshot scene and Arthur's reading of it made me cry more than the entire last episode, which was cried over!)

Poor Doctor. He's so mired down in Timelord responsibility he's a complete dunce.

Still, I'm really satisfied and happy and sad and there are so many feels. Just...argh, this show kills me.
