Little Dramione Library

Let's just say, for now, that reading Dramione became very therapeutic for me, as a means of coping with Naruto!fail, so here I am, by no means immersed into the HP fandom [nope, thanks a lot], but pretty much into the beauty of DM/HG, true.

If I'm being completely honest, it was true waaay before I ever considered them - just, when you ship doomed pairs, you kinda feel them before you can even fall for them. And with my history the choice was quite obvious, not to say prominent [or fated].

And I'm absolutely enchanted as of now, and as noobish and ecstatic as they come, since reading about the range of issues addressed in such a fashion - it's an experience of sheer bliss: here we witness an entirely different approach to ages, personalities, aspirations, occupations - and even smut is somehow read differently [should I say - magically?].
And thank goodness, there're breath-taling loads of it + all the kinks [and when I say 'all' - I most definitely mean it].

So here's the list, even if for just the for memory's sake.
No ❤-ratings [for the time being], no order, just as impressions allow this one to be created.

  1. The Deadline
    By: Lena Phoria

I shall start my listing with this one, and for a reason: I've never read a fic more relatable than this one. Not in any other fandom. There're fictions perfectly detailed and realistic, painfully so - fictions with descriptions more beautiful than heaven itself [or so it seems] - and then there's this one, where more often than not actions written by the author speak times louder than words themselves.

It's very important a story. Precious even. Unforgettable. It helps tremendously in evaluating [and re-evaluating] certain aspects of one's life and approach to a number of pretty important issues.

At the same time it's not meant by the style of it to commit such things to the reader - quite the contrary! - yet here I am, absolutely adoring what I've just read, and just hoping I'd get to read such a non-fanfiction [in its consequences] fiction in future. It's brilliant, really, both in the fashion in which it's written and in what it does to the unsuspecting reader. I'm all awe and amazement and joy and fluffy happy smiles around, because the ride is totally worth it.

Also, this is a story about adults, like, seriously adults. After the teenage angst of most naruto relationships, it's a welcome and, turns out, incredibly helpful - change of the perspective. And it gives more credibility to the whole relatable factor. And a lot of other personal impressions I'm not naming here, but they are, they exist, and I'm thoroughly grateful for the author to being so exquisite and skilled with words and situations.

And the original characters I didn't even recognize as OCs! Fully fleshed out, breathing, living, - fantastic! If you're scared of OCs - by all means, don't be - you WON'T notice them being even slightly out of the scenario! They fit, they live, and they make the whole experince multi-dimensional to a level of perfection.

  2. The Serpent
By: Mystery Author [I'm sure I've just missed the post with revelations, so if you could help with the link to their profile - all the more thanks to you!]

It's bloody fantastic, wizarding Robin Hood [not the one you might imagine, though], lots of confusion and dramatic delicious innuendos, the readers kept on the edge of their sits by the sheer impact of the writing and a glorious, gorgeous D/H interaction, truly toe-curling, in all the implications of the word.
I found the fic more by accident than any sort of recs, and Merlin, I wish you all have more such 'accidents' in your reading experience.

  3. Broken + Epilogue
    By: Inadaze22

In all truth, this epic should be rated NC-21 at minimum, and that is to say about a story with literal zero smut or gore. Well, time to re-acquiant ourselves with the real reasons for high ratings.
This creation is beyond priceless - a formidable story of survival, coping and healing - a handy walk-through of the hardest moments of one's life, reminding you to cherish yourself, understand and value your accomplishments, learn to trust people, and eventually - heal.
This is hardly a dramione romance in the traditional definition we're used to - yet it's far exceeding expectations with its deep psychological narrative and seriousness absolutely surpassing the very boundaries of fanfiction genre with the issues brought up here.

It's not just an adult story [would be hard to stomach all the anguish and the beauty otherwise!], it's an entirely different level of writing altogether - where exploring fictional characters is the best way to transmit the meanings infinitely deeper, darker - yet so wondefully filled with hope and survival.
Be warned, this story will have you broken. But don't prematurely prepare yourself for this - just read on; as this story will also teach you how to mend and stand tall.

  4. Little, Fragile Toys
    By: Bex-chan

Strictly speaking, any and every possible and actual dramione fan better read ALL of them Bex-chan's oneshots, since they're all unique and each on its own level of preciousness. What I like the most about them all - is the recurring theme of several years post-war - makes it muh more relatable to us non-teenage auditorium, - and the subtlety, of course the subtlety.

I've chosen particularly this one to write down here, because at once it may seem to entirely contradict this subtlely from the get-go - but you just read further on, until it hits you; subtlety or not, the realism is a painful experience. Especially after the attention is seriously scattered by smut *winks*

  5. Seven Days in April
    By: Inadaze22

Where Hermione is the bad guy, and before you wonder what it may entitle, the strongest urge to heck yourself in the mirror will mess with all your plans - when you realize how this presumbaly fanfiction isn't even half as much about characters as it might be about your own self.

Extremely useful and important read, psychologically-wise. Helps in defining where one stands and for which reasons exactly.
Truth be told, I'm incredibly impressed how stories about fictional characters actually provide with material for serious, no-bs analysis of real people's actions and motivations.

  6. Isolation
    By: Bex-chan

I'll keep it short, since this story is like 'Stormbenders' for the ZK community - the pillar of it all. 'The Deathly Hallows' rewritten into a canon-compliant [and magically wonderfuly with all the appropriate angst] dramione. Also be sure to take your time to actually listen to the music Bex-chan is suggesting for every chapter - the playlist you'd get in the end is marvellous, a treasure in itself!
