Y'know, maybe the need to be the center of attention serves a purpose. I hate being the center of attention, I find it very painful. And then, when I'm being social, even though I enjoy it *as* I'm doing it, I dread it every second before the event and feel very drained after the event. I'm usually drawn towards people who like to be the center of attention because it relieves some of my perceived burden, and also brings me out of my shell a little bit.
So why not just be the way you are? I think you're neat!
Rick's always afraid that at some point whoever he's hanging out with will find him too puppy like, to hyper or too dorky and stop wanting to be around him. Whenever a friend forgets to invite him along on something or if he's forgotten or excluded for any reason he always wonders if he was too annoying to be around and if they will ever want to hang out with him again
