So, I must say that I was sorely dissapointed with the 2006 edition of the Giro d'Italia. Don't get me wrong, there was some good racing and some spectacular stage wins, but there was no competition for the GC during the last week. Basso could have ridden a tricycle the last week and still won by 10 minutes. So, today we will compare the 2000 Giro

ya know, he wears pink for a reason. thats because its the leader's jersey of the tour of italy. you might ask, "but why is it pink?" the leader's jersey of the tour of italy is pink because initially the race was sponsored by La Gazetta Della Sport, a sports newspaper that was, and still is, printed on pink newsprint. Who knew?

FYI - The Financial Times of London is also printed on pink newsprint. Silly limeys.
