Sorry, Danny, but I couldn't resist a chance to be your opposite....

Things I have learned to remember if I get too far from deep depression:
1) People must learn to look at the logical consequences of their actions, and plan ahead. That way, they can screw each other all the more effectively!
2) People must learn to look at how their actions affect others. There's always a good laugh in that!
3) A universe with consciousness in it has good, a universe without is even better! This principle is the basis for how most people live their lives: mindlessly following others!
4) People's actions are always based on the positives. People cut corners in order to save time and possibly maximize gain! People kill others to be free of their negative influence or because those killed deserve not the pressures and pains of life.
5) The positives are increases, either in an individual or in the interconnectivity. A prime example of interconnectivity is a cult! A cult unites people under a common belief and gives them faith that there is a better tommorrow!
6) Having a spiritual side to your life is good. A set of delusions to keep you from realizing how truly doomed you are will make you suffer much less and your inevitable fate all the more surprising!
7) Many people can't see how God who is benevolent can allow terrible things to happen in the world. Its fairly simple: He does bad things to make the good things seem better! Sure, there's genocide in His name and terrible, cataclysmic weather, and all other manner of horrific suffering that even my mind probably can't even begin to fathom, but there's also all the happy things in life: like squirrels, video games, pretty flowers, and candy! So, the next time you're thinking the world is against you and things just can't get any bleaker, why not just think of pretty flowers and hope the hurting will all just go away...
