I hope this doesn't sound too silly but when my anxiety meds aren't working for whatever reason (fever I've discovered does this) I've had to find a few tricks to get me to go to sleep without first having an anxiety attack in the "introspective" time before bed that either leads to "omgzthere'samurdererinthehouse" or "i'veruinedmylife."

1) breathing exercises, counting breath does take your mind of some things.
2) watching a familiar movie or tv show with the sound down low. I can generally fall asleep to Mythbusters or LotR.
3) Do the ABCs of good things in your life, from the serious to the stupid. Example: A = Awesomely cool red hair. B = bouncy balls! C = caffiene.

I dunno, this stuff might only work for me cause I'm weird. *hugs* wish I could help more, hon.
