HOLY CHEETOS!
HOLY CRAP... BEST DAY EVER!!! okay... so
Grace, Sarah and I left school at 12 to go to West Hollywood. we stopped at in and out and ate lunch and continued our journey. Anthony's book signing didn't start until 7:00 and we got up there at about 2:30... so we pulled our stuff out on the sidewalk so Grace could make her RENT pants. people kept looking at us funny, because we had jeans laying out on the street and sharpies..
so after we decided to check out the bookstore... it was a GLBT bookstore... it was fairly small and they had posters saying that you had to purchase the book to get in... nervousally we stood in the middle of the bookstore for a bit, and then asked and they said it would be fine, since we already had our books... so we left to go to the Coffee Bean like 2 blocks down... at this point we were being followed by Rent... we passed the Tango Grill and looking at the menu the first thing they sold was Wine and Beer so we took a picture :)
we went to the coffee bean for a while, where we were stalked by a million Range Rovers (hey bum, yah you move over, get your ass off that range rover) and blonde boys on bikes... we went into this store where they had many things that we of course related to rent... it was quite creepy to tell you the truth :)
anyways at about 5 we walked back to my car and put on Anthony's cd and sat there for a bit, trying to get Sarah's camera working so I could tape for Jenny (who made me sad that she wasn't there :( ) no such luck... we started to see people arriving so we decided to head over... we were origionally the first people there until we left, and when we came back we were 15, 16, and 17. they gave the first 20 people numbers to gaurentee after he spoke we could get back in line... basically the whole group was singing along to the RENT cd that was playing. it was fun... we started talking to the people in front of us (speaking of which if you are either of them, let me know :) )
after a while Sarah was like Ally I have to go to the bathroom, come with me... it was about 6:20 so we walked outside, and instead of going twords the coffee bean which we KNEW had a bathroom, we went left... and we were walking and saw this guy and we were like is that Anthony Rapp??? that looks like Anthony Rapp... oh my gosh, that's Anthony Rapp.... and he walked past us and saw our pants and scarf and smiled and waved, we walked past turned arround and were like we're going right back in that bookstore!!! he walked in and went to the back... and later a fan asked what's the craziest fan experiece you've had and he goes "well that was right on santa monica blvd.... haha just kidding" and Sarah and I like sunk down haha
at 7:10 ish he came out and asked everyone to turn off our phones (although he said the exception would be if you had a RENT ringtone haha) and then he first said he would read out of his book. he read all of "We Begin". it was amazing hearing him read it. and I always loved how he talked about Jonathan's high school crush, but he like showed how Jonathan said it and ahhhh. it made me wannt to cry..
after he read, it was Q and A time. I was trying to get the courage up to ask my question, and finally I did... I raised my hand and said "my friends and I were listening to the NYTW on the way up, and I was just wondering, have you concidered real estate???" and he laughed and was like "hahaha have I concidered real estate? hmmm well that's an inside joke for those of you who don't know... from the" and he got close to the mic looked at me and said "BOOTLEG" and I looked at him and put my finger up to my mouth and went "shh!" ;) and he goes "of NYTW there's a song called Real Estate that was replaced with What You Own, which I think we can all agree was a good move..." I almost died... and nobody really laughed when I asked, so I'm not sure if anyone there but Sarah, Grace and I knew NYTW :o)
as the Q&A continued, I had another question so I raised my hand again and asked "Other than Mark, what was your favorite part you've had?" and he answered "probally hedwig, I got to learn how to wear 5 inch heels"
after Q&A he was going to sing seasons of love when someone goes "TRACIE'S HERE!" and I was like oh my......and I turn around and she's right there. she came up, and went to sing Seasons of Love with Anthony, and she wasn't prepared and her voice wasn't warmed so she missed a few notes, but managed to somehow sound amazing (how she does it, I'll never know.) afterwards she grabbed a pen so she could sign autographs, and started to go down the line, while the rest of the line came to Anthony.
Tracie came up and she was soooo cute... like I wanted to take her home in a hampster ball :) she signed the front page of my book, and I got her to sign the cover for Jenny (we are trading covers) and Grace took a picture with her which didn't turn out, and then we had like 3 retakes because the other she blinked... haha but they ended up coming out really cute, and she was really sweet and patient with the fact we were having camera issues...
so we got closer to Anthony and we got up there I went first and I gave him our Peanuts book called "welcome to the writing world" i think it was... it was cartoons about snoopy writing stories, and then authors wrote snoopy letters of suggestions and stuff... the 3 of us wrote in the cover, and he took the time to look through it quickly and said "this is so cool, thanks guys" and I got him to sign my book and my cover for Jenny, and I got my picture (in which I look like I'm about to die on the spot) sarah and Grace both got pics too, and then we decided to stop hogging him (although it was so much fun!)
we walked outside and group hugged, and we were like wow... and so we decided we needed to sing... so Sarah and I went skipping and singing "Out Tonight" at the top of our lungs, and I look over and there's Tracie on the other side of the street and she yells "haha you guys sound great" and I was like "we sound horrible, sorry you have to hear that" and she goes "I sound horrible" and I was like "OH pleaseeee! I know your singing power!" :) (I cannot believe she heard our horrid singing hahahahha)
so I basically collapsed on the ground of west hollywood clutching my book... lol and we get to my car all having a natural high, and we noticed... I got a wonderful parking ticket! haha but I don't honestly care, because well... my night was perfect otherwise!!!! :)
