I've never seen the movie, unfortunately, but I wonder how true it stays to the book. Maybe it's the impression that the words make, but there's something quite disturbing about it and less hyper sexual towards the end. Nabokov has a knack for that. If you've been following my blog at all, I'm totally into my old men, so at first I was hesitant to admit that I found the book totally disturbing towards the end. It's a great read though and I totally recommend it. I can totally see you as Humbert Humbert!

Anyway, I agree with the uber-liberalism amongst faculty. I think a large part of it is generational... complaining is learned inherently and bourgeois lifestyles are a hard habit to tone down.

oh my goodness, READ THE BOOK!!! it's better than both of the movies times a kajillion.

also, that part in Total Recall where he takes the fat lady face/head off gave me nightmares as a child. (yes, i'm a huge wuss. ask sally.)
