“Meet me in the practice room after the show.” He said it and then laughed it off with the hosts of the show but Joon saw the seriousness behind the words.
For all Bi-hyung was only their producer, he knew damn well job title meant little to nothing. Producer, president, slave driver, pick the one you prefer or even the legal one but it amounted to the same thing. Bi held his life, and the life of the other four, in his broad palm. He could curl those fingers around them to protect or to crush at will. Joon knew the laughter was the real joke of the moment. And his stomach trembled violently at the knowledge.
“Joonie-ah. Our pretty little laughter-seeking Joonie-ah.” Rain singsonged as he cupped his cheek with one hand. He traced Joon’s cheekbone lightly, tapped it as if testing its delicacy. “Telling stories on hyung, again.”
Swallowing, wishing desperately to look away, he only stared helplessly into those glinting dark eyes. The trembling in his stomach spread up to his heart until it pounded and shook. The stories were agreed-upon stories. Nothing he hadn’t already said before so why the mongoose-playing-with-a-cobra impression? He swallowed painfully.
Bi smiled. Not the eye-slanting grin of humor but the pleased baring of teeth of a wolf. “Scared, Joonie-ah?” Those long fingers slid downwards to curl around his throat. “Don’t be scared of hyung.”
Fucking hell, Joon thought, scared is too tame a word. Frightened didn’t even quite cover it. His bowels were trying to liquefy their contents and his stomach wanted to reintroduce his mouth and dinner. Terrified. The soft, lilting voice had every hair on his body standing up and quivering. This wasn’t a Bi he recognized.
This was a monster.
