A/N: This is not meant to be in anyway awesome or deep. I just found out some sad news and need an outlet. This was it.
She wandered down the sidewalk in a daze. Other people moved around her, sometimes nudging, sometimes shoving her. It didn't matter. Her best friend was in the hospital thousands of miles away, losing her baby. And she, Min, had no way to get there. No money, no hope of getting out of this damn city where she was still a stranger to herself after nearly a year.
She loved it most days.
Except days like this where it was blazing hot and the sun baked the sidewalks and buildings. When her shirt stuck to her back and the sweat under her bra drove her insane.
When she couldn't fly back to Seoul to hold Jia's hand. Couldn't be there for Seungho to cry on her shoulder.
Days like this sucked until she wanted to rage because, in moments like this, she couldn't find a reason to laugh. And her tears were blocked by shock.
Somebody shoved her hard from the back and she felt her purse strap, crossed over her body for security, loosen. A wirey guy with a beanie pulled low ran off with her purse tucked against his side. She thought she should yell but couldn't work up the energy. Instead she drifted to a nearby bench - where was she exactly?- and pulled her knees up to her chest.
In her time in the city, she'd never been the victim of a crime. She supposed it was fitting that it happen on today of all days. On the day when she was falling apart from the outside in.
