Title: Jiyeon's Failed Crush
Rating: PG
Pairing/Character Joon/Jiyeon
Summary Jiyeon discovers her idol has feet of clay - at the very least, a snotty attitide.
A/N Pretty sure I wrote this in response to a prompt for a Kpop community. Pretty sure. <.<

She wished for him. Three days a week, stuck for fifty minutes in a classroom with him, she wished for him. Watching his graceful pacing in front of the whiteboard as he lectured, she contemplated the many debauched things she'd do to that lean body.

All the fantasies didn't help her learn a damn thing in his class but Jiyeon couldn't bring herself to care. History wasn't of great interest to her. She believed in the here and now. And here and now she wanted to jump Dr. Changsun's bones. Perhaps it was a flaw but it was hers. She'd wear it proudly except she didn't have the nerve to tell him.

Then there were those university policies regarding professor/student relationships. It wasn't fair, she thought. Crossing her arms under her breasts, she pouted but kept her eyes locked on Changsun. If she couldn't have him, she would admire the view.

“Hey, Jiyeon, stop pouting.” Chaerin poked her in the ribs with a pen. “You'll never get into his pants if you keep looking like a bratty teen.”

Jiyeon consciously relaxed her expression. When Chaerin gave her a thumbs up and a cocky grin, Jiyeon turned her head, hid her face from the professor with one hand, and stuck her tongue out.

“Real mature.” Chaerin snickered.

“That's how I roll.”

“Do you have some insight into the political and religious climate of this region in the 1400s which you would care to share with the rest of the class?” Changsun looked over the top of his glasses.

Jiyeon wanted to drool at the sight of him looking all professorial while also wanting to fall through her chair into a black hole where she could enjoy spaghettification. Spaghettification had to be more enjoyable than looking like a dumbass in front of her number one all time crush.

She felt the blush burning her cheeks. “N-no. I don't.” Chaerin snickered while keeping her face tilted downwards as if she were actually a diligent student.

“See me after class.” His voice was stern. His expression said he was unimpressed.

“Of course.” Sinking low in her chair, she buried her face in her hands. Talking to guys, being comfortable around them had never been a problem before. She spoke “guy” but also knew how to be cute and girly.

Damn Lee Changsun for making her feel awkward and out of her depth.

After class she approached his desk with stomach knotted and prickles on the back of her neck. “You wanted to speak to me?”

Looking up from a stack of essays, he studied her. She tried not to fidget but ended up pushing her dark hair behind one ear. “You are not doing well in class.”

“History is not my best subject.” She shifted her gaze from his honey eyes to the toes of her shoes. Probably a pair of sexy, strappy heels would help her feel more confident in the moment but she'd dressed for comfort. She certainly hadn't expected to be standing in front of Changsun today.

“Hmm. No, it doesn't appear to be.” He took off his glasses and tapped one of the arms on his chin. “I would say flirting and being cute is more your speed.”

She went cold, then hot. He had noticed her. Obviously. Or there would be no way for him to know she flirted. She never flirted with anybody in his class. When he was in front of her, there was no other guy on earth worth flirting with. Still, she was young and single. There was no reason for him to be so snotty about her flirting outside of class.

“We all have our gifts.” Unconsciously she lifted her gaze to his and tilted her chin.

“Yes, we do. Still your history grades are dismal. You may not be gifted in history but you do know how to study, yes?” Again with the glacial voice, superior attitude.

Jiyeon felt her jaw tighten. Soon she would be grinding her teeth. “I know how to study. History just doesn't interest me. It is all dead people and dusty buildings.” She felt pleasure at the muscle twitch in his jaw. Score, she thought.

“There are lessons to be learned from those dead people and dusty buildings. And everything becomes history. This conversation is already becoming history.”

Angrier than she thought herself capable of being, Jiyeon flashed her practiced (in the mirror for days during freshman year of high school) smile at him. “That explains why this conversation is already boring me.” Her parents would kill her if they knew she'd talked back to a superior, a teacher like that.

She found it hard to care.

Changsun uncoiled from his chair to glare down at her. She merely jutted out her chin and matched him stare for stare. He was still beautiful with his high, sharp cheekbones and soft-looking lips. She was beginning to detest his outward beauty since it disguised such an unattractive superiority complex.

“You are a disrespectful little girl. If my class interests you so little, drop it. Give a student interested in what I have to say the chance to be here. Stop wasting desk space.”

She glared. “It is too late to drop a course. Besides this class is required.”

“Then you should have wasted another professor's time and desk space.”

“I should have because admiring you pacing in front of the class wasn't worth the time or the money.”

“Admiring me?” One eyebrow shot up.

If it hadn't been for her stone stubborn pride, she would've smacked herself in the forehead or run out of the room to cry in the ladies' restroom. Tact and restraint were obviously still failing her. “Forget it. I'll finish this class with enough to pass and we'll never have to see each other again.”

He grinned suddenly. It turned his features elfish. “You think I'm attractive.”

She did. Oh yea, she did but no way was she going to overlook his attitude. She sniffed. “You are an attractive man. I thought it would make history more tolerable.” Actually, she'd just wanted to put herself in his orbit in hopes of maybe crashing into him one day.

Metaphorically speaking, of course.

“You want me.” Satisfaction practically radiated from him like an aura. It pissed her off even more.

“You're an ass, you know that? It makes me not want you if you were the last male on earth.” She turned and stomped out the classroom.

The shutting door didn't block out his chuckle and his “If you ever change your mind, let me know.”
