Yesterday I accepted a line cook job. Which is funny, because it's a restaurant that I applied for a dishwasher position and never got a call back. The best things are... my boss is nice, the people I'll be working with SPEAK ENGLISH, and I have no uniform... whatsoever. I start on monday, making salads and appetizers at Delrios Pizza/Restaurant in Ocean Park. If I do well, I can move up to other food stations, such as pizza chef, and get paid more. The interesting thing is that pay is negotiable. If I do a consistently good job, I can request more pay and he'll give to me.

I also went down to my fave fish and chips place, Moby Dick's, on Marine Drive in White Rock. As I'm waiting for my order to come, I see spoonguard come out of the kitchen. So I ask him if he's chef there, and he says that he's "just the guy who dumps stuff in the fryer" or something to that degree. He then went on to say that he may have oversalted the fries. Ah, such self-criticism after a remark of... humility? If you ever read this, the fries were salted fine. As good as always.
