thanks. the cloud and its shadow in the middle ground MAKES the shot in my mind. i'm also pretty proud of the fact that i took that shot without a tripod, even though i did shoot a panorama of the same scene. A photostitch of those shots is still pending.
things are well, yes. But how are you? I miss hearing about your life and all your pron/lj-cut entries.
Once again I'm coming to you for photography accessory advice. hehe. Do you have any clue about good tripods? I'm looking for a pretty cheaper (around 100 or so? Maybe a little bit more if necessary) and lightweight tripod and ball headpiece. I'm going to Alaska soon so I was looking for one I can just strap on me for day hikes and such. It's going to hold my Cannon AE-1.
i have a clue about good tripods, although i have yet to own a truly good one! i've bought reasonably cheap ones in my past, and they've done a decent job. But if you're willing to lug around a tripod, no matter how light, you better have a good one... especially if you have a fairly old school Canon AE-1 (film cameras have the disadvantage of being constrained by the ISO speed of their current roll of film, sometimes making a tripod a necessity in low light situations). Did you get it from your father/grandfather? It's an oldie but a goodie
