Great shots, the two middle ones are my favorites.
Being home means work but work means $$$.

thanks. you've a good eye, as the middle two required the most thought (composition wise).

true. i likes me money. the problem is that the more i work, the less i want to spend it.

all shots as awesome (no surprise there) but i'm particularly drawn to the center (bigger) cloud in the last one...incredible!

hope all else is well.

thanks. the cloud and its shadow in the middle ground MAKES the shot in my mind. i'm also pretty proud of the fact that i took that shot without a tripod, even though i did shoot a panorama of the same scene. A photostitch of those shots is still pending.

things are well, yes. But how are you? I miss hearing about your life and all your pron/lj-cut entries.

tripods? disseff87 July 7 2005, 18:32:50 UTC
Once again I'm coming to you for photography accessory advice. hehe. Do you have any clue about good tripods? I'm looking for a pretty cheaper (around 100 or so? Maybe a little bit more if necessary) and lightweight tripod and ball headpiece. I'm going to Alaska soon so I was looking for one I can just strap on me for day hikes and such. It's going to hold my Cannon AE-1.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

i have a clue about good tripods, although i have yet to own a truly good one! i've bought reasonably cheap ones in my past, and they've done a decent job. But if you're willing to lug around a tripod, no matter how light, you better have a good one... especially if you have a fairly old school Canon AE-1 (film cameras have the disadvantage of being constrained by the ISO speed of their current roll of film, sometimes making a tripod a necessity in low light situations). Did you get it from your father/grandfather? It's an oldie but a goodie ( ... )
