Better Better Than It Sounds

Instead of exactly doing that meme that is going around, I decided to fix some of the decidedly unsnappy summaries of selected literature for Better Than It Sounds. Also, guess what they are.

My changes are italicized. )

Excellent! But only half marks for 11, as the book Lawrence wrote is The Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

I've got to kick myself for not getting Dune.

As for Lawrence? *shrug* I can admit it, I've seen the movie but not read the book.

It's a classic of literature, and goes into much much more depth than the film.

I had thought of Logan's Run for #1, only to realize

• you said 'literature,' not 'film,' and
• I was wrong anyway.

Still, if you plug Peter Ustinov's 'Old Man' into the Noble Savage role, it does fit - accidentally, to be sure.

It's not a bad guess, considering Logan's Run was also a book, and "future perfect, me unhappy" has to be the plot of thousands of novels, except Brave New World codified all the tropes around that plot.
