Argh!

I have just finished day 3 of Orientation Week. First of all, what happened on Monday was I found out Queen's didn't have me registered at the University. I went and talked to Grad Studies, and discovered that they hadn't formally accepted me into my grad program. Argh 1 ( Read more... )

Ouch, that sucks. Stupid Queens and Red Tape..... blah :P

I'll keep by fingers crossed that things improve for you. And if not you can always come over and drown your sorrows in copious amounts of movies and ice cream :)

(BTW - there IS a widescreen version of TMNT - thank the fandom gods -)

Thank the fandom gods indeed!!! I shall come to your house sometime soon...when works for you? I guess tomorrow's kinda my only day. Have you got the battleshell?

I do have the Battleshell, and I do have the day off work (at least part of which should be spent cleaning the art room though).

I had had a tentative offer to go see Stardust but no definite plans were made (although you are more than welcome to come if a) I do go and b) you wish to)

If we don't go to the theatre though you are still welcome to come over and we will find something to watch I'm sure.

I would love to see Stardust! Is there a matinee? I'm supposed to be somewhere for 7:00. When I finish my brunch at about 13:00, I'll give you a call and maybe we can hang for a bit and then go to the 3:55 show? I love our chats just as much as our movie-watching.

P.S. I did see the entire audio commentary from Guillermo on Pan's. It was really good and deep for a commentary. I want my psychologist to hear it. "Fantasy is just as real as religion." I LIKE that.

P.P.S. I actually went canoing because people with no experience wanted to canoe, and I was the only one who knew how to steer. It was a good thing I came, as even so the tide carried us about a mile east of the harbour (to RMC), the waves were large, and it got dark really fast at 8:00pm. Could have been dangerous! We crazy grad students. Oh, and we almost got run over by the Wolfe Island ferry (I was shouting "Stroke! Stroke! Stroke like a madwoman!!!")

Argh! Those things sound very frustrating and I hope they are resolved too. Last year I was signed up to take a really annoying 17th C course instead of my Tolkien seminar and I managed to arrange it so that I could take it instead, with the help of the guy in charge of my program. I hope that something similar would be possible for you. *crosses fingers* If that's not possible, I hope that this course turns out to be less basic than it looks.

Well, I think the course will be ok. Thanks for your support! Everything's pretty well resolved now, and the admin's very apologetic. I miss home at times like this, though, or at least being able to snuggle in my apartment and do fun stuff. But I have made a great new friend who's in my program, and made friends with the guy who preceded me in the program. So all is not lost! Now I'm going kayaking! :)

Kayaking? Cool!

Mind you the only time I actually went kayaking I was 12. And "kayaking" was a very loose term for it, given that my cousin and I wrapped ourselves around either end while my aunt's friend (who was the only one actually properly seated in said kayak) did a barrel roll. If memory serves I managed to hold on till we surfaced again - my cousin did not.
