Ok, here's how I'm going to do this -

I'm home all the time - except Thursday morning from 9 to about 2.

You can come when works for you.

All I ask is that you give me about a 10 minute phone warning that you're about to arrive
so I'm conscious.  If you don't have my phone number, drop me a private email or drop
roaming a private email, and one of us will ( Read more... )

Gods, yes, thank you - I can probably use all the boxes I can get!

What size boxes would you prefer?

Hopefully Friday will work out. I'll give you a call in the morning or something.

And I assume at this point that you don't want to move another computer? So I can hold on to that here until you are settled or something? It's up to you.

Hi,

sadly all too true, I have no idea what I'd do with it at this point.
I don't even know what to do with the old ones I DO have.

Anytime is good, I'm pretty much here all the time, thank you.

Not scared of what I'm asking for - I have 3 FLOORS of a filled
duplex - there's a lot to sort, pack, give away, donate and trash -
boxes are imperative.

Course, likeliest I can't keep most of it, but in boxes its easier
to store somewhere.

We could always pull the disks from all but one of the old ones and you could mount the disks on the one computer you keep if you need something from them. That way you would only need to move one computer. I think I could find an external USB adapter that would allow you to attach the pulled disks to your best computer. Or something like that. (I assuming this is all windows?)

Wow, cool. Don't know if that will work though, as they're way diff kinds of computers, as in one laptop (my first gen thinkpad), one unit that's built into the monitor (I don't know what it is, I inherited it from lensman as a stopgap when my really old system died and I've never seen anything like it before), and one normal box that may or may not work but if it works it has info I think I need to get - that was Tali's computer.
I have the hard drives from my really old system in this little box that's usb'd into the other system - sounds very much like what you're suggesting. Sadly, they're all so old that I think together they don't have the storage of a current line laptop LOL.

Probably what's easiest is to get through this hell, get out of here, figure out where I'm going to be, and then worry about the computers.
