Pysical Description: Fawkes is tall at 5'8, with dark tanned skin, black hair which she usually keeps up in a braid, though her bangs still hang loose in the front, and bright aqua eyes. She's attractive, and while she doesn't go out of her way to flaunt her assets, neither does she attempt to hide them. She has a somewhat top heavy figure, being well endowed, and long shapely legs. All around, she would be an extremely desireable woman if it weren't for her personality. Usually she wears comfortably fitting robes that are common to most mages, and her artifacts. Not much of a jewelry fan, she likes to wear comfortable slip on shoes, though they wear out quickly from the excessive amount of traveling she does.

Background: Fawkes had a fairly typical childhood. He grew up with two Eiflan parents, was going to become a swordsman, and possibly a knight when he came of age. He had a small group of friends that he considered his "bests", and they all ran around together regularly. On one of these romps however, when he was about 14 years old, he and his friends found themselves in the predicament of being surrounded by a small troupe of Kobolds. Since they were all training to be adventurers, the group took this as a chance to practice. The results were distastrous however, when he and a female friend were both critically injured while fighting back to back, and died. The bodies collapsing on top of each other.
Arguably Fortunately, one of the members of their group was studying to become a priest, and had read up on and practiced the spell 'ressurection'. But because this friend was so young, and the spell is intended for experts, it was horribly botched. The souls of Fawkes and his friend were returned, but not their correct bodies. Fawkes' parents, and his friends parents as well it's presumed, were horrified when they discovered this, particularly since this is not a reversable action. At least not without killing their children a second time, and having an experienced Priest or Priestess revive them a second time, and really no one wanted to have to murder their children, physical issues aside. So understandably it took quite a while to determine whether Fawkes, in his new female body, would go with his parents because of his soul and memories, or with the other parents because of his biological body having been raised by them for so long already. And that wasn't even bringing up that he now had magical talent instead sword related muscle memory. Eventually it was decided though that he would return to his parents and she to hers, since their memories and souls were more pervasive and important than their physical shells. Things were never quite the same after that though, with Fawkes having to learn to accept being called a girls name (Masartham), until he could convince people to call him by his last name Fawkes instead. And having to attend mages classes now instead of swordplay in order to get his new magical talent under control.
Upon leaving school, Fawkes had finally gotten his powers in check and but wasn't near the standard of most of the other mages in his class. And worse, he felt the same way about his new body, which blossomed into a stunning figure of a woman, causing him to be completely conflicted with himself. After graduating from the Mages Academy (just barely, and may have been a pity pass.), Fawkes did get to embark on the adventure he'd been planning since childhood, though by this time, most of the friends he'd made the plans with had gone in different directions, possibly but not necessarilly because they felt too awkward around him and the girl he'd been switched with and so unintentionally shunned them. There's also a chance that he may have accidentally alienated at least one of them by making a pass at her.
Personality: Fawkes is surprisingly straightforward in personality, his masculine traits tending to come through despite his feminine body. When meeting people for the first time, he'll try and be friendly before anything else. But he can be very defensive about her appearance and any men who try and come on to him will usually be surprised at his abbrasive and usually loud reaction. He likes to earn his living by turning in the scum of society for the rewards they usually have on their heads, but his less than professional grade magic skills often leave him in debt to various towns for causing unintentional collateral damage. He doesn't have many friends, but when he considers himself close to someone he will defend them with everything he's got. However it takes a special kind of person to stick around her for very long, because he can be bossy and a bit loud.
This is mostly because he is, at his base, a guy. Outer trappings aside. His voice is clearly feminine, but his speach patters and mannerisms are not. These contradictory features can often get him into trouble he wouldn't otherwise have had to deal with.
Anything else we should know? Fawkes' more advanced spells are incredibly potent, but also incredibly unpredictable. If he forgets a gesture or tries to improvise something too roughly, his spells can missfire and hit surrounding buildings, trees, his allies, and even himself, or they can go completely haywire and hit his allies, his oponents, and himself all at once. His favorite spell is Shock, which she uses to fry food, and as a general way of laying into anyone who annoys him. He's become quite skilled at it and can even direct it at specific body parts, such as the forehead, feet, hands, and even the rear end. His own version of 'a swift kick in the pants'.
Fawkes' sexuality is a difficult question. Because he considers himself unequivically straight because despite his body, he thinks of himself as a man, while most people he meets, male or female, insist that he's a lesbian because his body is that of a woman. If he forgets (and he often does), he can end up making quite a mess for himself by making passes at straight women and then failing to understand why they've turned him down.
