I know, it's more a commentary on some local immigration stuff going on, in response to some people in my local life.

There is a local issue about a Mexican lady who is here illegally, but is desperately trying to get citizenship legally right now. She has a baby that was born here on top of that. The thing is, she's just a waitress and getting citizenship is expensive so she was holding a bunch of like yard sales, at her house and through her church and a lot of people are showing their asses about it, saying that people shouldn't help her and that her and her kid should be deported even though the kid is a citizen and she is really trying hard to stay legally as a worker and eventual citizen. The thing that bugs me most is that these people who are so against her staying are also the same that will so readily trot out America as a symbol of hope in the world and how we accept everybody and idk. It's just a big mess, and I hope the best for that lady and her kid.

And Re; Immigration. It seems the people most opposed to immigration/immigrants are also the people most opposed to the foreign policy actions that would help reduce said immigration (ie: fixing sucky foreign countries)

I haven't read the second two! I'm kind of embarrassed to say I couldn't make my way through LotR XD I tried so hard, but so much plot.

And yeah, maybe so many Mexican immigrant wouldn't want to leave their country if the US would stop feeding weapons into the country :|

Oh, dear.
Well, you definitely need to read "Pride". It's a lovely, fun book, and I think you'd get hooked on the author like I did.
