Years ago, kittendaddy and I went to the Warhol museum in Pittsburgh. We were astounded at the drawings we saw there; until then, we thought of him as that guy who silk screened Campbell's soup cans. But no, he was actually a good artist!
Oh he did so much more than the soup cans. The soup cans were more philosophical and spiraled into this whole context of culture and commodity. Plus he was a graphic designer long before being a fine artist--that's where screen-printing as an artistic method came from for him. Most of his original graphic design work was done by hand as well.

I was just shocked that he could, you know, actually draw. Like I said, I had him pegged as the Soup Can Guy. LOL
