Twain, Mark - The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn same as Treasure Island and Gulliver's Travels.I hate to bitch, but since it's one of my favorite books and by my all time favorite author, I must. Huck Finn is not even close to Treasure Island and Gulliver's travels. I realize that all of them are adventure books, but Huck Finn and Gulliver's Travels both have deep underlying criticism about the society in which they were written in. Gulliver's Travels deals with the nature of human beings (it deals with British citizens alot too). It's main beef is the line at which we seperate humans and animals, human behavior and animal behavior, and thinking and instinct. The last chunk of the book about Yahoo's is the deepest and harshest criticism on our species in the whole book. Huck Finn on the other hand deals more with slavery and America. It deals with how a little boy can blur the artificial racial boundaries set up by a racist society and bond with another human being. It also deals with parenting, education, and conformity...I' ( ... )
