As a SEA, I'm happy to see your interest in Malaysian politics. Not only Malaysia, South East Asian countries in general have rather complex and constantly shifting ideas of democracy, although most of these dynamic are largely overlooked by the mainstream due to bigger and louder unrest in Middle East and elsewhere.

... and why I now have an iReport account on CNN.com where I posted this (minus the links since I wasn't sure CNN would like me citing Wikipedia and linking to youtube videos :D;;;)

Mostly, just. Yeah.

I honestly knew nothing about the politics over there until, one day, after watching The Last King of Scotland back in April, I signed onto Plurk and saw my Malaysian friends joking, saying things like, "Lol, guys, if I suddenly disappear, it's because the ISA got me."

And just. Fffff. Yes.

Mostly, I have to thank my friend for keeping me in the loop. I'm worried about her since she's planning on going to the rally on the 9th and the government already seems to be cracking down on the rally before it even started! So. Just. If people could wish her and the other protesters well, that's all I can ask for.
