My friend Marlyna is getting married and asked me to be in her wedding. As she is a dear friend, not to mention the person who turned me on to the joys of waxing and the Macy's shoe department, I gladly accepted. Girl, I am totally your bridesmaid dress twin. After all of the fuss about Holly's restrictions and waffling about what my dress should look like, I spent a wad of money having a dress custom made from an online vendor. The dress finally arrived on Monday, and it doesn't fit at all. As in, a burlap sack would conform more closely to my figure than this dress does.

Terribly panicked, I called Holly. She told me that the best man had decided to wear black (why did he get liberty to decide what he was going to wear?) and so it would be cute if I wore black, too. This after having told me earlier that black -- indeed, all dark colors -- was entirely verboten. Freed of the challenge of finding a light color that would not clash with a blueish red, I went shopping tonight and bought a dress that fit both me and all of the rest of Holly's requirements, plus specialized undergarments.
