I feel like this is a pattern with the writers too often these days - breathe life into side characters then viciously murder them. I'm not against killing people off, but this late in the game makes it annoying. We're running in circles with Sam and Dean because it's been 7 seasons, little has happened to them that we don't know about. The minute another character gets their full story, they're sent to the chopping block. There was so much potential left in a lot of the other hunters.
I agree. Rufus was another one they killed off that I'm still bitter about. And I want Castiel back. I'd have loved to have seen him as a fallen angel trying to come to grips with what he did to have his wings stripped from him. Instead they blew him up. Blah.
In Season 5, they thought it would be over and started the slaughter. It's like watching a show with survivor's remorse. To be honest, Seasons 1-2 (some parts of 3) will be how I want to remember the show being. I found little interest in the story arcs getting too big for mere mortals.
I get what you're saying. However, I did love Season 5. And if the show had ended there, I'd have been fine with it. Although, I'm glad it's still on the air, I'm not gonna lie. But I do understand what you're saying about the story arc getting too big for mere mortals. I've felt that way for awhile now. Although this seems to happen with a lot of shows I watch...
