It was pretty surreal, definitely. But there was no doubting how proud my committee members were of me, which was heartwarming and awesome.

Still, congratulations are in order. General ones, simply for succeeding in defending your thesis; and specific ones, for doing so with distinction. But I think the words of the greatest adversary of our House are the most appropriate in this case: "In a roomful of people, she shone". These words refer to the greatest of our House; but they also apply to you. You deserve this; and I am sure this is only the beginning of the rise of a new star.
