Oh. His name is Garion. He's really very ordinary.

Strange group of people?

Yes. Lady Polgara and her father and their party. Largely made up of noblemen, oddly enough, and a smith.

What made them strange?

They were unexpected, I suppose. A pair of wizards, and I suppose that Garion's a wizard, too, traveling around with Prince Kheldar of Drasnia, who has a least three other names, the Earl of Trellheim, giant as he is, and they're good friends... Sir Mandorallen is fearless, a Mimbrate knight, my knight. I've seen him kill a lion with his bare hands. And Hettar, he's the son of Clan-Chief Cho-Hag, can speak to the horses and he's very, very adamant about killing Murgos. And sensible and kind Durnick among all of that!

I suppose it's just odd. To find them all in one place like that. They're looking for something though, I suppose.

I'm sure that you are, Dresden.

And why are you so sure of that, princess?

You seem honest enough.

And if you're only kidding, well... I'm only kidding, too.

The more I experience actual relationships, the more I think politically arranged ones are the best way to go.

Probably. I don't believe I'd doubt that.

Honestly, it's all rather ridiculous and complicated otherwise. If you merely marry who will be best for the kingdom... that takes all the difficulty out of it.

I suppose that it does, and I know that my father won't pick anybody who'd treat me badly. I'll be taken care of, some coot will gain Imperial clout, and that will be that.

The person you fell in love with isn't the person you're marrying, is it?
