looking at the image again today when I imported it here from the other blog space medium, I also felt the 'coldness' of the image.
If I was to add to the image it would be a sense of light from a nearby fire... one could so much to the image... but to add now would alter the meaning of the mood and emotion at the time I first wrote this post.
Oh, I agree totally. It's just my gothic-ness coming out. There's something about ivy on stone that gets me. The tenacity of the plant to cling and survive. The implied age and a balance between garden and run down. Ivy will survive without any attention, but it can also take all the love you throw at it. It's strong and willful, but it can also be molded and shaped. And under all that it's eroding the mortar and brickwork and eventually destroys its home, only to keep on growing.
OK, I've thought a little too much about this. I did actually describe a D/s relationship through the ivy imagery :)
