 So, not only is there this facebook controversy, BUT as I went to log in, I saw an ad for 'google ad-sense' that said 'become a paid member of lj and subscribe to this, people will go to your lj but see ads anyway, and you'll earn money'.  WTF google/livejournal????  I'm not sure I agree with that either.  This is live JOURNAL it's not really a

They're trying to compete with blogspot, which is strangely owned/run by google. I don't think they realize the culture of LJ is a bit more....what's the word?....underground. They also don't realize that blogspot is far more user-friendly for public types of blogs. Not to mention being completely free, even for people who make money from their blogs/advertising.
