a brief note on the Smith situation

just a quick note before hitting the hay, and having mulled it over, i think i would rather that Smith just left. whilst appreciating what's he had achieved in his tenure so far, if he's so intent on heading backwards then i don't think he is the man for the Scotland job. any suggestion of a split deal is just going to lead to conflicts of ( Read more... )

Craig Levein won't be able to say no when he gets offered. Nice track record, if still a bit young, but i imagine the SFA will pay him a hell of alot more than United (or any other diddy team for that matter) ever could.

Like you said, smith's not wanted if he won't give 100%. sooner he's gone the better.

looks like he is gone now. not seen Levein mentioned in the running yet - don't think he would be a bad appointment either. he's the first manager in ages to get United on a semi-even keel. i did wonder about Jeffries but i wouldn't want to see him leave Killie. looking at the possible candidates on the BBC website i would love to see Davey Moyes but really don't think that has a cat in hell's chance. Dalglish would be a nice option i think.
