lint explosion (and a side note on bird-friendly, organic shade-grown coffee)

I really shouldn't be amused by this, but I am. I probably won't be in an hour or so. Yesterday we decided to tackle the issue of why the dryer dries really slowly. The most likely culprit is 10-years worth of lint stuck in the dryer vent tube. The tube is the bad kind that isn't even code anymore with ridges and it does have a 90-degree bend ( Read more... )

good grief! *hug* sounds like a big pain in the tail.

when you replace the dryer vent tube, is there any way to reroute it so it doesn't have the 90-degree bend? or build in some kind of "lint fisher" to help with removal?

at least you caught it before it set your house on fire. i should really check ours, too - i bought a set of vent brushes a few months ago with that intention but haven't gotten around to actually using them yet. :(
