I have the few days I am in NY to sort out florist, photographer, suits, and so many other bits and bobs...(and believe me, I am not going crazy with stuff)

I am more worried about shoes, hair, makeup and something for my head...I plan Whitby months in advance - for a wedding....Forget about it!!!

TBH once we made the decision to make the wedding for "us", all of the pomp went out of the window and made planning it a breeze. I decided that I wanted to look like me for the day so no need for hair/make-up stylist. I'd made my "no new clothes" vow this year so there was no dress to worry about.

I don't envy you at all.

I do want to look like me...but since I am pants at makeup and hair, I have to put thought in it. I'm not having a makeup person. Couldn't afford it even I wanted to.

As for the dress...it wasn't expensive and it is what I wanted...

There isn't any showy wedding pomp to be honest...well, maybe some traditions, but it's what we both want...the wedding is really about us, hence avoiding a lot of the shit.
