While cleaning out the art shelf today, I found the cigar box of photos that I had inherited from Grandpa several years back when they moved. They deserve to be shared. Pardon the low-res scans.

This is Grandpa himself. I'm not sure where, but I'm guessing this is during his tour of duty in WWII.

These are marvelous, especially the third one. The people on vintagephoto would love these.

The first one was taken in Kansas City at the "Liberty Memorial" a famous site dedicated to the soldiers of WW1. He is wearing his old flight jacket, but I suspect that it was taken about the time that I was born unless it was when he was home on furlough. The second and third are of Jack Crai, one of grandpa's childhood friends. Jack grew up across the street from Grandpa on Campbell St. "Uncle" Jack was at KU when I was there. He died of panceatic cancer many years ago. He was a life-long bachelor and a pretty cool guy. The last 2 are apparently from when he was in flight training. I can't tell where. He was in flight training in Tulare, CA. Lemoore, CA and Walla Walla WA., so it's one of those places.

See you soon, I hope.
Love,
Dad
