In and around Castiglion Fiorentino

I combined these two views into my first foray into watercolor, which didn’t go to badly

Our dining hall, from the view where I gave it a go with my brush pen

Us on an overlook of a piazza, the focus of our next studio exercise

Some of the boys. Jon’s expression is amusing, to him and to me.

The tower overlooking part of the town

Near the Center

‘San Francesco che reiceve le Stimmate’ (‘Saint Francis receives the Stigmata’) by Bartoloma della Gatta, located in the little museum here in Castiglion Fiorentino. A renaissance piece, and one which I enjoy especially.

‘San Michele Arcangelo’, also by della Gatta. I like this one even better than the previous, especially Michael’s expression and stance. I know my angle was awkward, but I had to brace my camera due to low light, and this is as good as it gets.

The loggia and Three Arches at Piazza Communale. I did a sketch of this, with some degree of success.

Our courtyard, and some rather nasty-looking storm clouds (which yielded nothing.) You can see where a tree used to stand, but it died and they simply paved over the area.

Our courtyard again.

Eric in the twilight. Note the ‘Saved by the Bell’ binder in his hand. This came out rather well, considering my camera and the time of day.
