So last week wasn't the best.  I mean, I'm getting the hang of law school and I have a fun group of people I'm slowly starting to be friends with, so it wasn't bad.  But it wasn't the best.  Two of my favorite authors (Madeleine L'Engle and Robert Jordan) both died; my fantasy football lost by ONE point; I accidentally bought something I could have ( Read more... )

So Electro Static build up on a plane is normal, most planes these days are designed to deal with a certain amount of charge and discharge it continuously back into the air via the trailing edges of the wings and tail. The idea being to keep it from arcing across the plane. Its fairly rare for the charge to build up enough to discharge to the ground though not unheard of and while not good for the plane its extremely rare that this causes a crash. It was a much larger problem in the early days of air flight when the planes were made of wood and metal and the wood would catch fire. But for the most part you don't have to much to worry about.
