You should never feel guilty for winning otherwise the whole competition thing turns into who can feel guiltier and lamer and thats just not fun.
As for your writing prof. well you could relate the ability of the company to enforce its non-compete agreement with the way MLB players were kept from deciding their own contracts in the first half of the previous century, I think there was a court case on that but I'm also pretty sure it was overturned. Or on that note just relate the world series to a non-compete agreement and make the Red Sox the company.
