I'm biased. I'll always pick a Mac. However, there's issues with adobe at the moment.. not being intel friendly. Saying that if you are not intending to use softwares for design purposes, then there is no problem there. Apart from that, the Mac is and has always been reliable. Ben and I were once upon a time home PC users and the number of times we've been pissed off to a point Ben has smacked the keyboard on the table - countless. So bottomline Miss J, my vote goes to: MacBook Pro. :-D

The thought of having have to convert everything to Mac, the new Mac programs that need to be bought...is making me want to crawl into fetal position. *Shivers*

But...

when my friend's PC crashed a few months back, she was shopping for a new laptop, too. She's against Mac too at that time, but ended up getting a Mac (iBook, I think) 'cuz of the size. And now, she's totally pro Mac and dislikes PC. And me...I'm still relunctant to touch her computer. Good luck shopping!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences! Ultimately, I would like to switch to a Mac, because I do think it's their OS is more stable than Windows, but you hit my concern right on the head: transferability of programs.

I really need to go to the Apple store and pick their brains.

how about a Thinkpad T series or Z series.

they don't look as cool as vaios or a macbook pro but the
thinkpads have alot of good features.

the mac!! i'm biased also; i'm an apple fiend...!! i have a 15" ibook and i want to get the macbook! i love my mac, been working on them for years, i don't think i'll ever own a pc. i even painted my ibook pink! ; )
