Judas - not an original! anonymous April 7 2006, 04:12:29 UTC
Yes, this release will certainly stir up some controversy, but most likely not as much as people may want! The Gnostic teachings found in the ‘Gospel’ of Judas were addressed previously by Ireneus (bishop of Lyons) in AD 180, in his treatise ‘Against Heresies.’ Pagel’s statement seems to indicate that there was no orthodoxy at the time, which is quite incorrect. Though Gnosticism presented some difficulties to Orthodox Christianity, it should be noted that this trend came after the establishment of the church and represents a syncretism of philosophy rather than an authentic teaching. - CB (more on this here- http://christopherbutler.wordpress.com)

So i really know little to nothing about this topic. as you know.
But what is Jesus asked Judas To betray him...because something could come of it, like something good? You know what I'm saying? i'm just...you know...exploring options I guess you could say? You know? I dunno.

could be. but i dont think that an all perfect son of God would have a secrit plot to kill himself. it doesnt seem like a pure thing to do, no matter what the motives.

who's this "mr anonymous"?

I don't believe that. There is an endless number of people with twisted versions of the gospel and related, so this doesn't surprise me.
