I'm a big fan of pulling onto the shoulder to block them.
Even in the mustang, I'll just pull over and glare at them in my rearview.
Often, the other people around me will start to do the same, help me block the lane, as soon as they realize that's what's happening.
Of course, you're violating the law, and could be cited, and could be making conditions even more dangerous for emergency vehicle traffic, but so are they, and I love watching them get pissed about it.
That is annoying as all get out... I dealt with it in the Bay Area, too, all the on and off ramps to the bridge, everyone wants to get on the bridge first... Courtesy is little and far between. It is really a societal drag that we can't be courteous, fair, and decent folks while driving, what a heck of a difference that would make.

Courtesy is little and far between.
