Two of our church staff members were not at church today because they had fled town. That irks me. if Rita hadn't fallen apart in the gulf before hitting, and it continued on its course, it would've hit houston with 170mph winds. i really don't think you can blame people for leaving town, man, given the fact that people had to get out of town before they knew it wasn't going to threaten Houston.
i'm using this as some solid writing time for my candidacy exam, which is due Oct. 1st. whew boy.
let us just be glad that destruction didn't come for us this time, that people who left are safe and now returning home.
let us not worry about being more holy, more trusting (if we choose to look at it that way) or more brave than our neighbors. :)
