Dog Park, March 9th 2007

Last Friday my girlfriend and I took the puppies to the dog park. They had a great time, but the dwindling light made photography a real challenge.

The shooting conditions were difficult -- sunset and after sunset.

Lessons Learned:
  • More light is a good thing
  • Flash may not have been a bad idea for some of the closer pics.
  • While the S3 is capable of ISO 400 and 800 for low light shots, the results are mixed.
  • Anything less than 1/60th of a second still shows the puppy as a blur.
I'm happy with the results. Almost 500 pictures were taken, and over 3 dozen were "keepers" -- far more than I expected.

There are 30 more pictures in the gallery!
