it won't stop

luhan/minseok | pg | high school!au | 1.6k word count

all his life, luhan has had boys confessing to him because of his pretty face.

it was tiring, and needless to say, annoying. he absolutely hated it.

in the past week, he had probably gotten more than seven confessions from seven different men who were more masculine than him, more burly than him, and much more taller than him. luhan was starting to regret coming to korea and especially in an all-boys high school. when he did decide to come to korea to study, he came to actually study not be confessed to twenty-four seven.

it was funny, he decided as he walked to the soccer field with a ball bouncing around in his hands. people always mistook him for a frail, cute, and feminine male when in reality, he was really manly. being a manly man, luhan hated the fact that he always was being called pretty constantly like he was some cute girl (which he wasn't). sometimes, these same males try to sleep with luhan only to find out that he isn't a bottom, much to their surprise.

it irritated him endlessly.

luhan decided to stop sleeping with these males. he used to do it to toy around with them and show them that one, he isn't a cute, girly man and two, he's a top, regardless of his looks. now, it was just irritating that they would leave him be after finding that out. what use was it if he was just being used for his looks?

he set the black and white ball down on the soft grass, side of his foot lightly nudging the ball forward towards the goal. once it was just a little ways from the net, he brought his foot back and jerked forward, kicking the ball with such force that he had nearly created a hole in the net. note that if he did, he would have to pay for the hole and luhan wasn't one of those rich kids. with an aggravated groan, the male ran to the other side of the net to retrieve the ball only to make eye contact with one of those muscular males in his physical education class. he stood up straight, fixing his jersey, and picking up the stained ball with one hand. chestnut optics pierced into the other man's eyes, as if to challenge him. "hi."

the boy turned red in the face, spreading across his cheeks, across the bridge of his nose. "oh, me, hi. uh, you're really good at soccer."

that was a first. luhan's brows furrowed as he shifted the ball between his hands constantly. "thanks."

"um, yeah." the boy seemed nervous. luhan sensed the confession coming its way and he mentally prepared himself. "so... i was wondering if a pretty face l-like yours wanted to, um, to go out to the coffee shop down the road with me some day?"

at least he was kind in his confession, luhan had to give him that. however, he wasn't interested. so he simply turned him down with a "sorry, no" and walked away without another word. he wondered if this is how girls felt. annoyed, irritated, and maybe a little guilty. luhan had half the wit to turn around to face the boy again but knew if he looked back, he'd feel so bad and pity the poor guy. as he pushed open the door to the halls, he quickened his pace to get to the department where they placed all the sports equipment. it was the door at the end of the hall on his right, which was not too far from him.

he opened the door with a strong grip, rolling the ball in with a slight pus. turning back around, he slammed the door and headed towards his locker to retrieve his academic things and head home, hoping this dreaded day would come to an end. except, luck wasn't on his side today.

"whoa, hi!" a timid voice called out in front of him. luhan looked over the stack of large books to see a focused face; eyes narrowed, lips pursed, cheeks colored pink, and brows furrowed in concentration. he rose his brows, stepping aside to let the smaller male walk past him. said male nodded in thanks before looking up with a gasp. nearly dropping his books, he regained his step, clearing his throat. "xi luhan, correct?"

if eyebrows could raise higher than usual, then they'd be off of luhan's face by now. he didn't know why he was surprised honestly. instead, he just nodded that yes, he was in fact xi luhan are you also going to confess to me? except he didn't say the last part. that would be rude.

"ah! good!" the small male exclaimed, smiling up at luhan. luhan narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "i just, uh, i just wanted you to meet me in classroom 1-a. i have to ask you something." and without another word, the mysterious male rushed off in the direction of said classroom. with a small sigh, luhan closed his eyes, his shoulders sagging. it's probably the fourth confession this day. he wouldn't be surprised if it weren't. he forgot about his locker and followed the seemingly younger boy to the class, dreading what he had to say to him.

when luhan reached the classroom, the smaller male was already there, taking a broom and sweeping around the classroom. luhan's eyelids drooped a little, he was so tired he could probably pass out on the floor.

as soon as minseok felt another presence in the classroom, he jumped a little, setting the broom aside and greeting the infamous luhan. "hey, you came!" he grinned, his pink gums showing. he watched as luhan's sharp eyes scanned him and he felt a little uncomfortable. "i wanted to ask--"

"don't even try."

what. what. minseok's eyes widened, his lips parting slightly as his gaze suddenly starting to flit around in confusion. did he do something wrong? did he word his question wrong? he didn't even get a chance to finish! oh, gosh, he probably thinks i'm going to confess-- "n-no, i--"

"i'm not interested, okay. this is the fourth time today and i don't want to deal with it anymore." he watched on in shock as luhan glared tiredly at him, chestnut gaze piercing into his chest. he swallowed thickly, trying to hold back a nervous chuckle.

"um, wait, i think you misunderstood me..." his voice got quieter as he suddenly noticed the sharp gaze the other male was sending him. if looks could kill, minseok would probably be 500 feet under the ground. "okay, never mind." he didn't fail to notice luhan's surprised expression before he left the classroom. as soon as luhan left, minseok's smile turned upside down. he closed his eyes, leaned against the desk, and let his hands run through his hair.

all he wanted to ask was if he could help with after school activities.

minseok had managed to clean the classroom up by four-thirty which was when his bus came around. he bounded out the classroom, only to be greeted by a taller body blocking his way. he stumbled a few steps away, blinking up in confusion. "luhan!" he exclaimed out loud, surprised that the other male was still here. he expected him to leave. however, it left a happy impression on his heart.

"yeah, hi," luhan sounded bashful, guilty even. what for? "i felt bad for leaving you like that back there. um, i should explain--"

"no, no, it's quite alright," minseok laughed, one hand gripping the strap of his schoolbag. "uh, so, does that mean you're going to listen to what i have to say now?"

luhan laughed as well, shyly now, long eyelashes fluttering down to slightly graze over his pallid cheeks. minseok wondered, wow he really is pretty, and suddenly, bit his lower lip, getting rid of the sudden thought. if luhan figured that he was thinking that out, he would probably get screwed over. figuratively speaking of course. "right," minseok started, chuckling nervously. "i was wondering if you could help me with after school cleaning duties? i have the sign up sheet with me, but it's at home. i can bring it tomorrow and you can sign up with me?"

the other male pondered on that for a while, twinkling eyes looking up at the tiled ceiling adorned with lights. minseok focused on his eyes, wondering how they could twinkle like that. he wondered how some guy could be that pretty. it was nearly impossible. "--seok? yo, man, you there?" luhan flicked his forehead playfully and he gasped a little, stepping back in shock. oh, god he was staring! how embarrassing! "are you going to call me pretty too?"

although, his tone held a teasing cadence to it, minseok couldn't help but feel his heart beat quicken a bit. he nearly got caught, that was scary. in the end, minseok laughed uneasily, shaking his head. "i was saying," luhan repeated, once his laughter ceased. "i'll help. you're kim minseok, right?"

"yeah, how'd you know?"

"you're wearing your badge."

oh. well, wasn't that stupid of him to ask. minseok glanced down and sure enough, he was wearing his badge. he coughed awkwardly, laughing at his own stupidity. "right, knew that." luhan laughed again, slinging an arm around his shoulders. minseok wasn't expecting that and definitely was not expecting luhan to smell pleasantly like newly bloomed flowers.

glancing up, he noticed every feature of luhan's face. going from the sharp jawline to his perfect smile. this is weird to me, minseok admitted. he was as straight as any pre-pubescent boy could be so why was he suddenly growing onto luhan like some bacteria in a fish tank. which was admittedly not the best way to put it, but you get his point.

kim minseok, simply put, is an unintentional teacher's pet, a soccer fan, and a hardworking student in an all-boys high school who thinks he is most straightest boy there is.

xi luhan, simply put, is a popular pretty boy, a soccer player, and isn't interested in boys at all in an all-boys high school.
