Wow, the original story at the source is almost two and a half years old. I'm going to say this is just a rumor brought back due to Inception obsession. It would be kinda cool, I guess. I definitely support more work for JGL.
Well, there was a new article published about it last week sometime, but my dumb ass misplaced the link, so I held off on posting it in hopes that I could find the link again. I didn't. So I just went ahead and posted this one instead. I'm still looking for the other article, though, so if and when I find it, I will definitely post it again. There was also an interview about a month ago in which JGL was asked about the film and he said something along the lines of, "I'm not allowed to speak about that just yet." But then the damn video was taken off of YouTube for "licensing issues".

Wow. I meant to say that Leo was asked about the "JGL playing Tetsuo" rumor and Leo responded by saying, "I'm not allowed to speak about that just yet."
I tend to agree, but I've got stick up for him and say that he is fantastic. If given the chance, I have this feeling Leo would blow us away. He is an actor capable of surprising moviegoers, so..my faith in Mr. DiCaprio will not fade.
True, if he's able to really transform himself as an actor, which I think he should be able to. Leo is one of my favorite actors, hands down, so I don't doubt his ability. Just the physical aspect.
Yeah. It's the physicality that makes me wonder a little bit. From what I understand, it is supposed to be a very physical role, but I don't doubt Leo and his condition. He should be okay.
Yeah, I think it was part of the whole, "What's next for Leo" article, talking about Akira and JGL was mentioned...I think. I have been up and down on this movie possibility. I think Leo is a little old for the part but I also love him as an actor and would love to see him try this. I think JGL would be fantastic and truly hope the rumor is true! I just want these two to do another movie together.
That sounds familiar, but I honestly cannot remember for the life of me. That's why it's so hard trying to re-discover this article because I truly don't even remember the website or any of those other major details. ;(
Though I do agree that Leo is probably a bit too old for the role, I think he'd be able to pull off the character with ease. Plus, get the correct make-up expert and age flies out the window. But I agree in the sense that Leo and JGL should do another movie together. I was so bummed that they didn't have more scene throughout Inception, so another movie dedicated solely to their two characters is something that must happen. They have chemistry! We just didn't get to witness alot of it.
Exactly! Leo isn't exactly predictable, but he's not hard to figure out. I know that is a contradiction in and of itself, but when Leo starts talking in code like that, it normally means something's up. I wish the video was still available because his mannerisms and the tone of his voice are just..way too "it's going to happen, but I'm not allowed to tell you". XD
Well, with the major success that Inception has been enjoying, it would be a sin if there wasn't some sort of second movie already being talked about. The only problem is that Leo has always said that he doesn't view himself as a "franchise" guy, so it would take some hard pressing from Nolan and the others to get him to climb on board.
