2 numbers away

We won $100 on a powerball ticket from Saturday's drawing. I'm happy with it...cuz it's $100 we didn't have before. But we had matched 4 of the 6 numbers: If we had also matched the powerball number, we would have won $10,000; if we had matched the 5th regular number, we would have won $200,000; and if we had matched all 6 numbers, well, you know ( Read more... )

I freaking love spinach, so this sounds the opposite of gross to me. I think I'm taking the Jgoode Spinach Smoothie Challenge!

Spinach is freaking amazing stuff! :-) I don't know why, but eating spinach at least, say, four times a week is the ONLY thing that gets rid of the dark circles I usually have under my eyes.

Spinach in smoothies is good! We also add whatever healthy thing we've got, the flavor of everything else hides it!

I wish I could get T to adopt this philosophy. He refuses to try the spinach smoothie, even when I tell him you can't really taste the spinach.

Go you! You should be SO proud!

There is a lot of evidence that exercising regularly improves one's mood. I have a close friend who was depressed for many years, tried therapy, medication and so forth with no luck, but once he started working out regularly it just evaporated like smoke. Amazing!

I also read recently that it can keep your cognitive skills from fading as you age, even more than other things they've been recommending for years, like doing cross word puzzles. That has me thinking I should be trying again!

Yes, I agree that exercise is a huge part of it. Issues with depression run in my family, and I have also noticed that when I'm hitting the gym regularly, everything else in life is just easier to handle somehow. Not sure what that says about my brain chemistry, but there you have it.

Hmmm, although I love spinach as a rule, I'll pass on the smoothie for breakfast. Perhaps it's the iron in it? That always perks me up.

When I was hitting the gym hard, I'd start my day with a protein shake and I was the perkiest I'd ever been.

Yay on winning $100 bucks and double yay on sticking to your regimen! :-)
