The Monthly Round Up!

In our last chapter, Josh was writing checks his body couldn't cash. Yep. I got the flu. Big time. About 90 days ahead of schedule AND after I had committed to gettting a flu shot that very week. Which seems pretty damned unfair, but there you go. (How is it that the flu gods know this stuff?)

So...things are running behind schedule a bit. I do ( Read more... )

I hope you feel better soon. I had my flu shot, but since the flu gods were not pleased I outsmarted them... I couldn't lift my arm for a week.
I enjoyed Death of a Pirate King and look forward to The Dark Tide. I look forward to your new releases!

LOL But how my luck usually goes it could have been much worse than a stiff and sore arm :) I did injure my knee again. I have learned my lesson I am not to ever, ever clean the attic. Not a problem at the moment as Harvey is still on the loose in the attic shower. Harvey is a really big spider. I need at least a shovel to go after him.

And I just read about the CYOA Christmas Surprise - awesome! I can't wait to read it. I have had CYOA stuck in my head lately - have an idea for my own if I can sweet talk Ali into writing it with me.

I would say I feel your pain re the flu, but somehow I've managed to reach the tender age of 39 without catching it (and no flu shots either)

I hope you're feeling better and I'm looking forward to Kick Start

You know, I never used to get sick (years of teaching built up an powerful immune system). But now that I work at home, I've caught the flu for the past THREE years. Every damn year. Sometimes I catch it back too.

So I figure I better give in and get a flu shot.

You are clever! You make one feel like rebuying everything!
And of course I'm looking forward to the new production!

I'm very skeptical about flu shots. Maybe they make sense for elderly people which should really try everything to avoid the flu. For the rest of us, the probability they really work are so low, some 20% as far as I remember, that I don't see why should someone bother to get them.

JFYI: I'm celebrating today my one week flu-ersary ;-), but basically I was KO only one day.

Be well (I really mean it ;-)!

I used to feel the same way, but I really don't seem able to withstand germs anymore. I pretty much catch everything that comes my way. And then I have it forever. :-(

Of course maybe the solution is simply leave the house more often. ;-)

I used to get the flu every couple of years. I've had shots annually since the Ontario government started to supply them for free in 2000. Haven't had flu once since then.

Wellll, this looks pretty interesting. The thing is, I don't do any of my own formatting. And this might be just a little more intensive and complicated than any of my support folks are willing to tackle. But thank you for these links! There are possibilities here.

I would be willing to tackle setting the ebook up for you. If you're interested, email me at dana dot armstrong at gmail dot com and we can discuss the particulars. I haven't tried anything like this before, but I worked as an IT consultant for 10 yeas (10 years as the main computer guru in offices before that), and I'm very proficient with word processors. I'm also decent with basic web pages (which is relevant due to the links, etc. in the book). I would consider it a learning experience with an eye to maybe charging for similar services in the future.

Josh, I should check before you have a flu shot. If you've just had flu you will already have the antibodies and therefore the immunity to this season's flu. I don't know, but I think it might overload your body to have more injected and so do you harm (as well as being unnecessary). If it was a really bad cold rather than flu then you should get the shot as long as you no longer have any fever, since they are different viruses.

I'm fascinated by the CYOA Adrien and Jake, especially since I've never seen a CYOA before! And I'm holding a credit especially for the Armed and Dangerous audio.

Has Chris P started The Dark Tide yet??

I doubt if Chris has started yet, but he's generally right on schedule with delivery. The real hold up now is ACX. They're taking longer and longer to approve projects for the sales channel. I think there will be an enormous backlog before the holidays.
